Arboricultural Association Wednesday Webinar Series presents Bats & Trees with Jim Mullholland. 14 of the UK’s bat species live in trees, some living in them year-round. Jim will talk about: which bats use trees and how the ecology of different bat species which tree features provide habitat for bats threats to bat populations and what we can do to help Jim is an ecologist and arborist specialising in bats & veteran trees. Jim’s current research interests include; improving how we survey trees for bats and creating artificial bat roosts in trees.

Forests are about place and there is huge variation across Britain in how forest cover, emerged, was deforested and then reafforsted over the last century. Geography, soils, climate and economics have all had their part to play and every county is different. Their stories are significant as we look forward at the future of our forest and consider what we can do in the face  of a changing climate. This talk covers the story of forests in Devon since the ice ages from the perspective of a manager of a Devon forest.

Through the Trees for Tampa initiative, multiple city departments, nonprofits, and private partners are working together to restore canopy cover, enhance resilience, and promote the benefits of trees to all residents.
